You cannot directly select / search the text in the PDF files that are created by ScanSnap since it is just an image file.
Therefore, you need to ocr the scanned data by using the function which converts PDFs to Searchable PDFs. (After this processing, you become able to select / search the text in the PDF.)
To create searchable PDF files, change the settings by following the procedure below.
The case that ScanSnap Manager creates Searchable PDFs.
Select the [Convert to Searchable PDF] check box on [File option] tab of ScanSnap Manager Settings window before scanning.

Select the PDF data that you wish to text-recognize.

Click on the [Convert to Searchable PDF] icon on the [Home] tab to select the processing.
- Specify the conditions when converting PDFs to searchable PDFs, and click on [OK] button
