Check whether the ScanSnap Manager icon is displayed near the notification area of the computer.
The icon may also be in the indicator area, so click the up arrow to display the icons and check there as well.
*If the icon is not displayed, click [Start] - [All apps] - [ScanSnap Manager] - [ScanSnap Manager] on the computer.

[How to check whether the program is blocked]
*Load documents in the ScanSnap.
- Check whether you can use the ScanSnap Manager menu to perform a scan.
Right-click the "S" icon for ScanSnap Manager near the notification area.
- Select [Simplex Scan (Single-sided)] or [Duplex Scan (Double-sided)] from the displayed menu and check whether documents can be scanned.
- If documents can be scanned from the menu, it may be that ScanSnap Manager is blocked by your firewall.
The following explains how to configure Windows Defender Firewall settings to unblock ScanSnap Manager.
If you are using something other than Windows Defender Firewall, please refer to the product manual.
How to configure the Windows Defender Firewall settings
- Click the [Start] button on the computer to display the application list. Then, click [Windows System] - [Control Panel] in the list.
- [Control Panel] will be displayed.
Select [Category] for [View by] in the upper right.
- Click [System and Security].
Click [Allow an app through Windows Firewall] in [Windows Defender Firewall].
- The [Allowed apps and features] list is displayed. Click the [Change settings] button in the upper right.
- Check whether [ScanSnap Manager] is listed in [Allowed apps and features].
If [ScanSnap Manager] is listed, select the checkbox to the left of [ScanSnap Manager].
When more than one [ScanSnap Manager] is listed, select the checkboxes for all of them.
- Select the [Private] and [Public] checkboxes to choose the networks allowed for communication.
When more than one [ScanSnap Manager] is listed, select the [Private] and [Public] checkboxes for all of them.
- Click the [OK] button.
- Click the [X] button to close the Control Panel window.
- Check whether pressing the [Scan] button on the ScanSnap starts a scan.
This completes the procedure.
