The following problems occur when uploading image data to OneDrive by using the ScanSnap Sync function of ScanSnap Connect Application (SSCA).
Note
- This problem does not impact the data that have already been saved and can be viewed on OneDrive.
- We are investigating the cause and keep this FAQ page updated.
Problem description
- iOS/iPadOS
- When trying to upload images with ScanSnap Sync, they are not uploaded to OneDrive but deleted from SSCA.
Update: SSCA version 2.8.21 has been released, where images will not be deleted from SSCA even when ScanSnap Sync failed to upload them to OneDrive.
Note: We are still investigating the cause that prevents ScanSnap Sync from uploading an image to OneDrive.
- Android/ChromeOS
- When trying to upload images with ScanSnap Sync, the screen stops responding or shows the message "An error occurred during communication with the cloud service."
Workarounds
Please use either workaround.
- Workaround A
Install ScanSnap Home (mobile) , migrate image data from SSCA to ScanSnap Home, and upload the images to OneDrive with ScanSnap Home. Use the OneDrive app to view the uploaded images.
Note: The ScanSnap Sync function is not available with ScanSnap Home. Please select the images to upload on the Data tab of ScanSnap Home and manually upload the images to the cloud service.

Migrating Files Managed in ScanSnap Connect Application to ScanSnap Home
- Workaround B
Disconnect OneDrive from ScanSnap Sync, select Dropbox as the destination for ScanSnap Sync, and upload the images to Dropbox with ScanSnap Sync. Use SSCA to view the uploaded images.
