The ScanSnap Manager icon may not appear when ScanSnap Manager is launched from the "Startup" folder. In such a case, apply the following resolution.
For Windows® 7
The ScanSnap Manager iconis located in the small menu which appears when you click thein the Windows taskbar. Drag and drop the icon from this small menu to keep the icon visible in the taskbar.
If the ScanSnap Manager icon is not in the small menu which appears when you click thein the taskbar, please try Resolution 2 for Windows® XP / Windows Vista®.
For Windows® XP / Windows Vista®

Press the [Ctrl], [Shift], and [Space] keys simultaneously to bring up the ScanSnap setup dialog box.
If the ScanSnap icon does not appear in the Windows taskbar regardless of whether or not you have ScanSnap Manager running, the icon may display when you open the ScanSnap setup dialog box.
If the ScanSnap setup dialog window does not appear, or the icon does not appear in the taskbar after you open the dialog window, try Resolution 2 below. (Close the dialog window if it is open)

Press [Ctrl], [Alt], and [Del] keys simultaneously to bring up the task manager.

In the task manager Process tab, check whether the process "PfuSsMon.exe" is running. If "PfuSsMon.exe" is running, select it and click on [End Process] in the task Manager.

Start up the ScanSnap Manager from [Start] --> [All programs] --> [ScanSnap Manager].
