By adding a profile (scan settings) for Word, Excel, or PowerPoint in the "Add Profiles" window in ScanSnap Home, you can convert scanned images right after scanning.

[Preparation]
- Install ScanSnap Home version 3.6.0 or later on your computer.
You can download the latest version of ScanSnap Home from here.
- Install Microsoft Office (desktop app) on your computer.
It is not compatible with Microsoft Office (Microsoft Store app).

How to add a profile and configure settings in the "Add Profiles" window
The screenshots show an example for Windows. The steps are the same for macOS.
This procedure uses adding a profile for Word as an example. The steps are the same for Excel and PowerPoint.
- Start ScanSnap Home.
For details, see How can I start ScanSnap Home?.
- Click the [Open Scan window] button in the upper left corner of the window.
- Click the [Add profiles] button in the upper right corner of the window.
- Select "Save documents" from the list on the left.
- Change the profile name to a recognizable name such as "Scan to Word".
- Select "Scan to Word" from the list of linked applications in the lower right of the window.
- In the message stating "Change the associated application.", click the [Yes] button.
The linked application is changed to "Scan to Word".
Note: This message does not appear on macOS.
- Click the [Add] button in the lower right.
- The [Scan to Word] profile is added to the [ScanSnap Home - Scan] window.
- Select the "Scan to Word" profile and click the [Scan] button. After scanning is complete, the document is converted to Word.
The Word window opens after conversion. Use "Save As" to save it to a location of your choice.
