Please follow the steps below to select [PC (Scan to file)] for [Type] in [Managing options] and specify a folder to save the images: (Windows, macOS)
■ Windows
- Launch ScanSnap Home.
Note: For details, refer to here.
- Click the [Scan] button in the top left corner of the window.
The [ScanSnap Home - Scan] window appears.
- Click the [Add new profile] button in the top right corner of the window.
The [Add new profile] window appears.
- Select a template from the Business category on the left.
Note: [Save documents] from the Business category is used as an example in this FAQ.
- Change the [Profile name] on the right to a recognizable name such as [Direct save].
- Select [PC (Scan to file)] from the [Type] list in [Managing options] on the right.
[Type] will be changed to [PC (Scan to file)].
- Click the [Browse] button located to the right of [Save to] under [Managing options] on the right.
The [Browse For Folder] window appears.
- In the [Browse for folder] window, select [Save to], and click the [Select Folder] button.
The procedure below is an example for saving PDF files to the [ScanSnapData] folder created on the desktop in advance.
The save destination has been changed to [ScanSnapData].
- Click the [Add] button in the lower right corner of the window.
The [Direct save] profile will be added to the [ScanSnap Home - Scan] window.
- In the [ScanSnap Home - Scan] window, select the [Direct save] profile and perform a scan.
The scanned images will be saved in the [ScanSnapData] folder specified as the save destination without displaying the main window of ScanSnap Home.
■ macOS
- Launch ScanSnap Home.

The [ScanSnap Home - Scan] window appears.
- Click the [Add new profile] button in the top right corner of the window.
The [Add new profile] window appears.

The window to select a folder appears.
- Select the [ScanSnapData] folder you want to save and click the [Open] button in the lower-right.
