ScanSnap Home automatically detects the correct orientation of scanned documents and rotates them to the proper orientation before output, even if they were scanned sideways or upside down.
Since the automatic rotation function corrects the orientation of the image based on the character strings in the document, the page orientation may not be recognized appropriately when any of the following types of documents is scanned.

The following procedure describes the steps for Windows, but you can use the same steps for Mac.
[Procedure 1]
- Start ScanSnap Home
and click the [Scan] button in the top left corner of the window.
For details, see “How can I start ScanSnap Home?”.
- Click the [Edit profiles] button in the upper-right corner.
- Select the profile you want to use.
Example: Select the [Quick Menu] profile.
- Click the [Detailed settings] button in the [Scan settings] window.
- Select the [Do not rotate] for the [Rotation] in the [Scan] tab.
Note: This setting needs to be configured for each document type.
- After the setting is complete, click [OK] and then [Save] to close the window.
[Procedure 2]
The screens shown in this article are from Windows. If you are using macOS, use Preview.
- Start ScanSnap Home
For details, see “How can I start ScanSnap Home?”.
- Right-click on the target PDF file and click [Open with ScanSnap Home Viewer].
The [Viewer] window appears.

Click [Edit].
Note: An upside-down file is used as an example.
- Click [Rotate 180°].
- Confirm that it has been rotated to the normal orientation.
Click [Save] to save the file.
