Yes, you can create a text searchable PDF file with ScanSnap Home.
Images that can be converted into searchable PDF files are as follows:
- Document type: Documents
- File format: PDF

This procedure applies only to PDF files created with ScanSnap.
Once images are converted into searchable PDF files, the text in these files becomes searchable not only in ScanSnap Home but also in other applications.
Select your operating system and follow the instructions:
<Windows>
- Click the Windows [Start] menu > [ScanSnap] > [ScanSnap Home]. The main window of ScanSnap Home appears.
- Right-click the image you want to convert into a text searchable PDF file and select [Convert to searchable content data record]. The [Convert to searchable content data record] window appears.
Note: To convert multiple images to searchable PDF files, select the content data records (images) you want to convert while holding down the [Ctrl] key or [Shift] key.
- Select a language for text recognition from the list and select the [Embed text information in a PDF file] checkbox.
- Click the [Yes] button in the lower right. [Converting...] is displayed, and the text in the image is recognized. The content data record of the image becomes searchable in ScanSnap Home, and then the results of the text recognition are applied to the meta information field.

- Click Finder in the Dock.
- Click the [ScanSnap Home] icon in the list of applications to start ScanSnap Home. The main window of ScanSnap Home appears.
- Click the images that you want to convert into searchable PDF files while holding down the [control] key. The [Convert to searchable content data record] window appears.
Note: To convert multiple content data records into searchable ones, select the content data records (images) you want to convert while holding down the [command] key or [Shift] key.
- Select a language for text recognition. Select a language for text recognition from the list and check the [Embed text information in a PDF file] checkbox.
- Click the [Yes] button in the lower right. [Converting...] is displayed, and the text in the image is recognized.
The content data record of the image becomes searchable in ScanSnap Home, and then the results of the text recognition are applied to the meta information field.
