This message is displayed when a profile (a set of scan settings) created on another computer is selected, or when the ScanSnap and computer are not connected.
Follow [Preparation] and [Procedures] below to check whether the problem is solved.
[Preparation]
- Refer to here and update ScanSnap Home for Windows/Mac to the latest version.
- Refer to here and update the firmware of the ScanSnap to the latest version.
[Procedure]
- Open the ADF paper chute (cover) of the iX1600/iX1500 to turn the power on.
- Tap the icon on the touch panel.
- Tap [Scanner settings].
- Check the option displayed in [Display of profiles].
- Click the displayed option from the following three options.
(All users / Selected user / Connected user)
■ All users
- Tap the icon on the touch panel to return to the top screen.
- Start ScanSnap Home on the computer.
Note: For details, refer to “How can I launch ScanSnap Home?”.
- Click the [Scan] button.
- When the [Scan] button on the pop-up window is grayed out, the profile you selected may be other user's profile. Make sure the icon next to [Select a scanner] is , and then click the [x] button to close the [ScanSnap Home-Scan] window once.
Note: If the icon is , refer to [What to do if the scanner and computer are not connected].
- Click [Preferences] to display the window in [Settings] menu on ScanSnap Home window.
- Select the [Account] tab from the list on the left of the [Preferences] window.
- Check the available profile color from [Color] in the window and click the [OK] button.
Note: In the following example, blue is selected.
- Slide left and right on the touch panel of ScanSnap and select a profile whose color is the color checked in step 7 described above. Make sure that the [Scan] button turns blue and the scanner is ready to scan.
Note: If the [Scan] button does not turn blue, change the profile color to another color in step 7 and try again.
■ Selected user
- Tap the icon on the touch panel to return to the top screen.
- Start ScanSnap Home on the computer.
Note: For details, refer to “How can I launch ScanSnap Home?”.
- Click the [Scan] button.
- Click the [Connect to the scanner] button.
Note: If the [Connect to the scanner] button is not displayed, refer to [What to do if the scanner and computer are not connected].
- Make sure the scanner and computer are connected and the [Scan] button is enabled.
■ Connected user
- Tap the icon on the touch panel to return to the top screen.
- Start ScanSnap Home on the computer.
Note: For details, refer to “How can I launch ScanSnap Home?”.
- Click the [Scan] button.
- Click the [Connect to the scanner] button.
Note: If the [Connect to the scanner] button is not displayed, refer to [What to do if the scanner and computer are not connected].
- Make sure the scanner and computer are connected and the [Scan] button is enabled.
■ What to do if the scanner and computer are not connected
● USB
Refer to “[ScanSnap Home] The scanner does not perform a scan when connected to the computer via USB cable.”.
● Wi-Fi
- Open the ADF paper chute (cover) of the iX1600/iX1500 to turn the power on.
- Check the Wi-Fi icon in the upper right corner of the touch panel.
・ If the Wi-Fi icon is , proceed to step 3.
・ If the Wi-Fi icon is or not displayed, refer to here.
- Tap the icon on the touch panel.
- Tap [Wi-Fi settings].
- Confirm that the network displayed in [Access point connection] is the same as the network to which the computer is connected.
Note: If it is different, refer to here and configure the settings to connect the scanner to the same network as the computer.
- Tap [Wi-Fi information].
- Tap the [Network] tab.
- Check [Configuration method] and [IP address].
● For [Obtain automatically (DHCP)]
Check [IP address] and jot it down.
Note: If "0.0.0.0" is displayed for [IP address], the IP address cannot be obtained from the wireless access point.
In that case, contact your network administrator or the router manufacturer of the wireless access point to which you are connected for information on how to successfully obtain an IP address.● For [Configure IP address manually]
Check [IP address] and jot it down.
Note: Check with your network administrator whether the IP address you have set is connectable.
- Tap the icon to return to the top screen.
- Start ScanSnap Home on the computer.
Note: For details, refer to “How can I launch ScanSnap Home?”.
- Click the [Settings] menu in ScanSnap Home - [Preferences] to display the window.
- Select the [Scanner] tab from the list on the left of the [Preferences] window.
- Click the [Connect via an IP address] button.
- Enter the IP address confirmed on the touch panel and click the [OK] button.
Note: When "Cannot find ScanSnap with the specified IP address." is displayed, ScanSnap may not be communicating with the computer via the router.
In that case, contact the router manufacturer to which ScanSnap is connected.
- Click the [OK] button.
- Make sure that the connection type is set to [Wi-Fi] and click the [OK] button.
- Verify that you can perform a scan from the touch panel.
● Direct Connection
- Open the ADF paper chute (cover) of the iX1600/iX1500 to turn the power on.
- Check the Wi-Fi icon in the upper right corner of the touch panel.
・ If the Wi-Fi icon is , proceed to step 3.
・ If the Wi-Fi icon is not displayed, refer to here.
- Check the Wi-Fi to which the computer is connected.
- Connect the computer to Wi-Fi (SSID) with a name starting with iX1600 or iX1500.
