You can switch Simplex/Duplex on the touch panel of ScanSnap, the [ScanSnap Home-Scan] window, or the [Edit profiles] window of ScanSnap Home. Refer to the following procedure.
Note:
- Some models are only available for [Simplex Scan].
- You can temporarily change the scan settings on the touch panel or the [ScanSnap Home - Scan] window. Scanning a document will return the scan settings back to the settings before any changes are made.
If you want to scan documents under the same settings all the time, change the scan settings for in the [Edit profiles] window.

■ Change from the touch panel
- Tap the
icon to the right of the [Scan] button on the touch panel to display the [Side setting] window.
- Tap [Duplex] or [Simplex].
The change to the scanning side setting will be applied only for the next scan. The settings will return to the [Scanning side] settings specified in the [Edit profiles] window after the scan.
Note: How to set [Setting for each document type]. (1) Tap [Settings for each document type].
(2) Tap the document type icon (Documents/Business Cards/Receipts/Photos) for which you want to change the settings.
The "Document" profile is used as an example.
(3) Select [Duplex] or [Simplex] and tap [Settings] in the upper right corner of the screen.
The change to the scanning side setting will be applied only for the next scan. The settings will return to the [Scanning side] settings specified in the [Edit profiles] window after the scan.
[Supplementary Information] From the [ScanSnap Home - Scan] window of ScanSnap Home for Windows/Mac, the scanning side setting can be changed using the same procedure as the touch panel operation.
■ Change from the [Edit profiles] window
- Start up ScanSnap Home
on the computer.
For details, refer to “How can I start up ScanSnap Home?”.
- Click the [Scan] button to display the [ScanSnap Home - Scan] window.
- Click the [Edit profiles]
button to display the [Edit profiles] window.
- Select a profile for which you want to modify the settings from the profile list.
The "ScanSnap Home" profile is used as an example.
- Select [Duplex] or [Simplex] from the [Scanning side] list.
When [Automatically detects the document type as "Documents", "Business Cards", "Receipts", or "Photos" and scans the document with the appropriate scan settings] is selected for [Document type detection], switch tabs for each document type (Documents/Business Cards/Receipts/Photos) and configure each setting.
- Click the [Save] button.
