You can use iX2500 by setting it up in ScanSnap Home as an additional scanner.

The windows shown in the following procedure are for Windows. The procedure is the same for macOS.
[Important]
If you are using ScanSnap Manager, uninstall it in advance. ScanSnap Home 3.0 and ScanSnap Manager cannot be used together in the same environment.
[Procedure]
- Update ScanSnap Home to the latest version.
[HELP] - Power on the iX2500 and confirm that the following screen is displayed on the touch panel.
- Start ScanSnap Home

- Click the [Open scan window] button in the top left corner of the window.
- Click the drop-down arrow
next to the scanner name.
- Select [Add a ScanSnap].
- Select [iX2500] and click the [Start setup] button.
- The following instructions are for connecting via Wi-Fi.
Click [Setup without the USB cable].
Note: If you are connecting via a USB cable, click [Next] to proceed with the setup.
- Click the [Next] button.
- Click the [Next] button.
- Follow the instructions on the touch panel for initial setup, then click the [Next] button.
Note: If you haven't completed the instructions, the following screen will appear.
- Select [iX2500] and click the [Next] button.
- If a "Firmware Update" message appears, click [Next] and follow the on-screen instructions to update the firmware.
- The firmware update may take about 5 minutes.
- When setting up via Wi-Fi on macOS, you may be prompted to connect the iX2500 via a USB cable during “Firmware Update”. In that case, cancel the firmware update, restart ScanSnap Home, select the iX2500, and then proceed with the firmware update.
- Click the [No] button.
If you want to import profiles from an already connected ScanSnap to the iX2500, click [Yes].
- Confirm that the iX2500 has been added.

Note: The screens used in the following procedure are for iOS. The procedure is the same for Android.
[Preparation]
- If you are already using ScanSnap Home for iOS/Android, make sure it is version 2.0 or later.

If your version is outdated, update it via the App Store or Google Play. - Power on the iX2500 and confirm that the following screen is displayed on the touch panel.
- Make sure that both your mobile device and the iX2500 are connected to the same network.
[Procedure]
- Start ScanSnap Home for iOS/Android

- Tap the menu icon (three horizontal lines)
in the upper left corner.
- Tap [Scanner].
- Tap [Scanner setup].
- Tap [Configure the Wi-Fi settings for the ScanSnap].
- Tap [iX2500] icon.
- Tap [Start the setup using a mobile device].
- Tap the [Next] button.
- Tap the [Next] button.
- Follow the instructions on the touch panel for initial setup, then click the [Next] button.
- Tap [iX2500] icon.
- Tap the [Next] button.
- Tap the [Pair] button.
- Press the [OK] button on the touch panel.
- Set a password and tap the [Next] button.
- Tap the [Get started on ScanSnap] button.
- If a "Firmware Update" message appears, tap [Start update] and follow the on-screen instructions to update.
Note: The firmware update may take about 10 minutes.
- Confirm that the iX2500 has been added.
