Current ScanSnap models with Wi-Fi capability support IEEE 802.1X authentication, so you can use them in secure networks such as those in corporate or educational institutions.
Supported Authentication Methods (EAP)
ScanSnap supports the following IEEE 802.1X authentication methods:
- PEAPv0: A common method used in many corporate networks
- EAP-TLS: A high-security method using certificates
- EAP-TTLS: Supports authentication using username and password
- EAP-FAST: A method commonly used in Cisco networks
- LEAP: An older method (no longer recommended)
Items to Confirm with Your Network Administrator
When using IEEE 802.1X authentication, detailed verification of your network environment and authentication settings is required.
Please confirm the following with your network administrator:
- The Wi-Fi settings match those configured on the authentication server
- The network environment of the authentication server is operating normally
- The authentication server and wireless access point are correctly connected
- The certificate being used is valid
Example: Verify the certificate has not been revoked and has not expired - If the authentication method is “EAP-TLS”, verify the certificate's CN (Common Name) is within 64 bytes
