Please refer to the following precautions.
- Always use the bundled USB cable to connect to your computer. Using commercially available cables, extension cables, or USB switchers may cause unstable operation.
- If no iX100 is recognized, you may be connecting it using a USB cable for charging only. Use the bundled USB cable (for data transfer and charging).
- When scanning with the ScanSnap S1300i/S1300 without an AC adapter, connect the ScanSnap and the computer using two USB cables. Using only one cable will result in insufficient power supply, preventing operation.
- When connecting the ScanSnap iX500 via USB 3.0, both the USB port and the hub must support USB 3.0. On some computers, connecting to a USB 3.0 port may cause the ScanSnap iX500 to malfunction. In such cases, connect it to a USB 2.0 port.
- The ScanSnap SV600 / S1500 / S1500M / S1300i / S1300 / S1100 will operate at USB 2.0 when connected to a USB 3.0 port.
- When connecting via USB 2.0, the USB port and hub must support USB 2.0. Connecting via USB 1.1 will result in reduced scanning speed. If you have a USB port that supports USB 2.0, use that port.
- Scan speeds will decrease if the CPU, memory capacity, or USB 1.1 environment does not meet the recommended specifications.
- When plugging or unplugging USB cables or power cables, or opening or closing the cover, always wait at least 5 seconds. Otherwise it may cause the ScanSnap to malfunction.
- Using a USB port on a keyboard or monitor may cause the ScanSnap to fail to operate.
- If you use a commercially available hub, use one that is powered by an AC adapter.
- Connect the ScanSnap to your computer after installing ScanSnap Home. Connecting the ScanSnap before installing ScanSnap Home may cause ScanSnap Home to malfunction.
- Only one SV600 and one other ScanSnap model can be connected to a single computer at the same time. However, both models cannot scan simultaneously. Switch models when scanning.
