- Are you connecting another ScanSnap to the computer via a USB cable?
- Does the network name (SSID) of the ScanSnap to be connected display in the [Connect via Wi-Fi...] screen in ScanSnap Manager?
- Are there any security limitations on the computer?
When the communication does not work:
Select one of the items below:
- Has the computer been set up to be able to connect to the ScanSnap?

Is the communication among the wireless devices disabled at the wireless access point?
Is the communication among the wireless devices disabled at the wireless access point?
Do you use a function to prohibit the communication among the wireless devices at the wireless access point (e.g. privacy separator)? When the communication is set to be invalid at the wireless access point, you cannot connect ScanSnap iX500 to the computer.
Solution:
Configure the wireless access point to allow the communication among the wireless devices. For detailed configuration, refer to the manual of the wireless access point that you are using.
[Supplementary Explanation]
There are some wireless access points that cannot be connected to either ScanSnap or a mobile device, or it is set in the default that it cannot be connected to any mobile device. In many cases the function to prohibit the communication among connected devices (e.g. privacy separator) is enabled in the wireless access point.
Here are some examples:
-
Wireless access point where the privacy separator cannot be set to invalid
(e.g. Logitec LAN-W300N/RSB)
Use the ScanSnap iX100 in Direct Connect mode or use a different access point where you can disable the privacy separator. -
Wireless access point where the privacy separator is set to valid by default setting
(e.g. EMOBILE Pocket WiFi LTE GL04P)
Configure the wireless LAN setting in the wireless access point to disable the privacy separator.
Is there any network limitation for security?
ScanSnap is recognized as the same device as a computer when it is connected to the network. Thus, you may not be able to connect the ScanSnap via the wireless access point used in the secure network such as LAN in the office. This is because an unregistered terminal may not be allowed to connect in such LAN environment. Due to the time lag occurs between detecting a terminal and shutting it out, ScanSnap may not be able to connect to the network even it succeeded in the past.
Solution:
Contact the network administrator to solve the problem.
