Are the ScanSnap iX100 and the mobile device connected to the wireless LAN environment?
Solution:
-
Make sure the Wi-Fi switch at the back of the ScanSnap is turned on and that the Wi-Fi indicator in the front lights up in blue.
If the Wi-Fi indicator lights up in orange, it means the ScanSnap is not connected to the wireless access point.
Try the following actions:- Shorten the distance between the ScanSnap and the wireless access point.
- Alter the position of the ScanSnap.
- Avoid or remove any obstructs (e.g. walls or metal plates) or devices that may cause radio wave interference (e.g. microwaves, cordless phones or wireless devices) between the ScanSnap and the wireless access point.
- Connect the ScanSnap and the computer with the USB cable to set up the wireless setting again with ScanSnap Wireless Setting tool or follow the recommended actions of the wireless diagnostics.
- Close the cover (ADF paper chute) of the ScanSnap to turn it off and open the cover to turn it on again.
- Restart the wireless access point to reset it.
- Check the setting of the wireless LAN environment. Make sure it is connected to the wireless LAN network of which the mobile device is connected.
-
Make sure the ScanSnap and the mobile device are connected to the same wireless access point if there are two or more wireless access points.
How to refer to SSID to which the mobile device is connected
Run ScanSnap Connect Application, and click the [Network] icon on the [File List] screen. If you would like to change the network, disconnect the connection and set up the network connection from [Wi-Fi] under the [Settings] window.
Is the communication among the wireless devices disabled at the wireless access point?
Is the communication among the wireless devices disabled at the wireless access point?
Do you use a function to prohibit the communication among the wireless devices at the wireless access point (e.g. privacy separator)? When the communication is set to be invalid at the wireless access point, you cannot connect ScanSnap iX500 to the computer.
Solution:
Configure the wireless access point to allow the communication among the wireless devices. For detailed configuration, refer to the manual of the wireless access point that you are using.
[Supplementary Explanation]
There are some wireless access points that cannot be connected to either ScanSnap or a mobile device, or it is set in the default that it cannot be connected to any mobile device. In many cases the function to prohibit the communication among connected devices (e.g. privacy separator) is enabled in the wireless access point.
Here are some examples:
-
Wireless access point where the privacy separator cannot be set to invalid
(e.g. Logitec LAN-W300N/RSB)
Use the ScanSnap iX100 in Direct Connect mode or use a different access point where you can disable the privacy separator. -
Wireless access point where the privacy separator is set to valid by default setting
(e.g. EMOBILE Pocket WiFi LTE GL04P)
Configure the wireless LAN setting in the wireless access point to disable the privacy separator.
Have you changed the router?
If you have changed the router, you are required to configure the settings of the router again under the [Wireless access point/router destination setting] dialog in ScanSnap Wireless Setup Tool.
-
Run ScanSnap Wireless Setup Tool and select [Wireless access point/router destination setting] from [Extended Menu].
-
Click the [Add] button in the [Destination setting] to add the network to be connected.
Is the ScanSnap Connect Application running in the mobile device?
Solution:
Run ScanSnap Connect Application in the mobile device to connect to the wireless router.
Is a different mobile device already being connected?
Solution:
You can use only one mobile device to connect to the ScanSnap at the same time.
Try reconnecting to the ScanSnap after disconnecting other mobile devices.
Is ScanSnap Wireless Setup Tool running on the computer?
You cannot connect the mobile device to the wireless access point while the computer is connected to the wireless access point with ScanSnap Wireless Setup Tool.
Solution:
Exit ScanSnap Wireless Setup Tool and try connecting again.
Is the ScanSnap scanning to the computer?
You cannot connect the ScanSnap and the mobile device during scanning.
Solution:
Connect the mobile device after the scan is finished.
Is there any network limitation for security?
ScanSnap is recognized as the same device as a computer when it is connected to the network. Thus, you may not be able to connect the ScanSnap via the wireless access point used in the secure network such as LAN in the office. This is because an unregistered terminal may not be allowed to connect in such LAN environment. Due to the time lag occurs between detecting a terminal and shutting it out, ScanSnap may not be able to connect to the network even it succeeded in the past.
Solution:
Contact the network administrator to solve the problem.
