To connect the ScanSnap to a computer via Wi-Fi, you will need a wireless access point.

[Preparation]
- If ScanSnap iX500 is used, please turn on the Wi-Fi switch that is at the back of the scanner.
- Connect the supplied USB cable to the USB connector on the ScanSnap and the USB port on a computer, and open the ADF paper chute (cover) to turn on the ScanSnap.
[Procedure]
The procedure will differ depending on your operating system. Follow the procedure in accordance with the operating system you are using.
Click the operating system you are using to jump to the operation procedure for that operating system.
Windows
- Launch ScanSnap Home.

- Select the [Settings] menu -> [Preferences].
- Select the [Scanner] tab from the list on the left.
- Select the scanner from the [Scanner information] list.
Make sure that USB connection is displayed for [Connection type].
- Click the [Wireless setup] button to launch ScanSnap Wireless Setup Tool.
- Select the [Extended] tab. Then click the "Access point connect settings" button.
- Click the [Wireless LAN setting] button.
- Select the [Select wireless network].
*This can be also configured using the WPS function.
- Select the network name (SSID) which you are going to connect and click the [Next] button.
*Here, "ACCESS-POINT" is used as the network name (SSID).
- Enter the encryption key (security key) for the wireless router in the [Security key] box, then click the [OK] button.
The following dialog appears during the process.
- The message "Successfully connected" appears, and then click the [OK] button.
- Click the [Back] button.
- Click the [Exit] button to close ScanSnap Wireless Setup Tool.
- Disconnect the USB cable for the scanner from the computer. [Connection type] will switch to [Wi-Fi].
macOS

- Launch ScanSnap Home.

- On the right of the Apple menu, select [ScanSnap Home] - [Preferences].
- Select the [Scanner] tab in the [Preferences] window.
- Select the scanner from the [Scanner information] list.
Make sure that USB connection is displayed for [Connection type].
- Click the [Wireless setup] button.
- Select the [Extended] tab. Then click "Access point connect settings" button.
- Click the [Wireless LAN setting] button.
- Select [Select wireless network].

- Select the network name (SSID) you are using and click the [Continue] button.
