After confirming that the ScanSnap is recognized in ScanSnap Home(*), try the [Solutions] below.
*How to check the recognition status of the ScanSnap
- Start up ScanSnap Home.
- Click the [Scan] button in the upper-left corner of the window to open the [ScanSnap Home - Scan] window.
- Make sure that the icon is displayed to the left of the model number for iX1500 displayed for [Select a scanner] in the [ScanSnap Home - Scan] window. If the icon is displayed, open the ADF paper chute (cover) to turn on the ScanSnap.

Check whether the selected profile was created on another computer or by another user.
(1) Confirm the name and button color of the profile (scan settings) that could not be used to start scanning on the touch screen.(2) Start up ScanSnap Home and click the [Scan] button in the top left to display the scan window.(3) Click the [Edit profiles] icon to the right of [Select a scanner].(4) Click the profile that cannot be used to start scanning. If [You cannot edit profiles created by other users.] is displayed, the profile was created on another computer or by another user.If you have selected a profile that was created on another computer or by another user, scanning cannot be started.(5) Select a profile (scan settings) for which [You cannot edit profiles created by other users.] is not displayed when you click the profile, then check whether scanning can be started. -
Restart the computer and check whether the problem is solved.

Create a new profile and check whether scanning can be started using the newly created profile.

Check whether scanning can be started with ScanSnap Home on the computer.
(1) Start up ScanSnap Home.(2) Click the [Scan] button in the top left to display the scan window.(3) Click the profile (scan settings) icon displayed on the scan window, then the [Scan] button.(4) If scanning can be started using the computer, check whether scanning can be started by pressing the [Scan] button on the touch screen of the ScanSnap.
If the problem persists even after you have tried the solutions above, the ScanSnap and the computer may not be connected correctly.
