How can I change the wireless settings after switched to a new wireless router?

You can change the settings in the [Extended] window of [ScanSnap Wireless Setup Tool] on the computer you want to establish a connection with.

The setting procedure varies depending on the ScanSnap used.

iX1600/iX1500

iX1300

iX500

The procedure varies depending on the software used.
Click one of the following that is appropriate for
your environment to go to the relevant procedure.
 

[When using ScanSnap Manager]

 

Windows

  1. Turn on the Wi-Fi switch that is at the back of the iX500.
  2. Connect the iX500 to a computer via a USB cable and open the cover to turn the power on.
  3. From the [Start] menu on the computer, click [All apps]
    - [ScanSnap Manager] - [ScanSnap Wireless Setup Tool] to start up [ScanSnap Wireless Setup Tool].
  4. Click the [Extended] tab, and then click the button to the left of [Wireless LAN setting].
  5. Select [Select wireless network] or [Use WPS] and configure the settings.
    When selecting [Select wireless network], enter the SSID and the encryption key (security key) for your wireless network.
  6. When connected the iX500 to the wireless network, click the [Exit] button in the lower-right of the [ScanSnap Wireless Setup Tool] settings window to close the window.
  7. Disconnect the USB cable from the computer.
  8. Confirm that the Wi-Fi indicator on the iX500 lights up in blue.

 

macOS

  1. Turn on the Wi-Fi switch that is at the back of the iX500.
  2. Connect the iX500 to a computer via a USB cable and open the cover to turn the power on.
  3. From the Apple menu, click [Go] - [Applications], then [ScanSnap] - [ScanSnap Wireless Setup Tool] to start up [ScanSnap Wireless Setup Tool].
  4. Click the [Extended] tab, and then click the button to the left of [Wireless LAN setting].
  5. Select [Select wireless network] or [Use WPS] and configure the settings.
    When selecting [Select wireless network], enter the SSID and the encryption key (security key) for your wireless network.
  6. When connected the iX500 to the wireless network, click the [Exit] button in the lower-right of the [ScanSnap Wireless Setup Tool] settings window to close the window.
  7. Disconnect the USB cable from the computer.
  8. Confirm that the Wi-Fi indicator on the iX500 lights up in blue.

    *If the [Extended] tab is not displayed after launching [ScanSnap Wireless Setup Tool], update ScanSnap Manager to the latest version.
 

[When using ScanSnap Home]

 

Windows

  1. Turn on the Wi-Fi switch that is at the back of the iX500.
  2. Connect the iX500 to a computer via a USB cable and open the cover to turn the power on.
  3. From the [Start] menu on the computer, click [ScanSnap] - [ScanSnap Home] to start up [ScanSnap Home].
  4. Click [Settings] - [Preferences] on the upper-left of the [ScanSnap Home] window.
  5. Select the ScanSnap that is currently connected to the computer from the list of ScanSnap units in [Scanner information] that is located in the [Scanner] tab.
  6. Click the [Wireless setup] button to start [ScanSnap Wireless Setup Tool].
  7. Click the [Extended] tab, and then click the button to the left of [Wireless LAN setting].
  8. Select [Select wireless network] or [Use WPS] and configure the settings.
    When selecting [Select wireless network], enter the SSID and the encryption key (security key) for your wireless network.
  9. When connected the iX500 to the wireless network, click the [Exit] button in the lower-right of the [ScanSnap Wireless Setup Tool] settings window to close the window.
  10. Disconnect the USB cable from the computer.
  11. Confirm that the Wi-Fi indicator on the iX500 lights up in blue.
 

macOS

  1. Turn on the Wi-Fi switch that is at the back of the iX500.
  2. Connect the iX500 to a computer via a USB cable and open the cover to turn the power on.
  3. Select [Go] - [Applications] from the Apple menu, then double-click [ScanSnap Home.app] to start up [ScanSnap Home].
  4. Click [ScanSnap Home] - [Preferences] on the right of the Apple menu.
  5. Select the ScanSnap that is currently connected to the computer from the list of ScanSnap units in [Scanner information] that is located in the [Scanner] tab.
  6. Click the [Wireless setup] button to start [ScanSnap Wireless Setup Tool].
  7. Click the [Extended] tab, and then click the button to the left of [Wireless LAN setting].
  8. Select [Select wireless network] or [Use WPS] and configure the settings.
    When selecting [Select wireless network], enter the SSID and the encryption key (security key) for your wireless network.
  9. When connected the iX500 to the wireless network, click the [Exit] button in the lower-right of the [ScanSnap Wireless Setup Tool] settings window to close the window.
  10. Disconnect the USB cable from the computer.
  11. Confirm that the Wi-Fi indicator on the iX500 lights up in blue.
 

iX100

    When selecting [Select wireless network], enter the SSID and the encryption key (security key) for your wireless network.
  6. When connected the iX100 to the wireless network, click the [Exit] button in the lower-right of the [ScanSnap Wireless Setup Tool] settings window to close the window.
  7. Disconnect the USB cable from the computer.
  8. Confirm that the Wi-Fi indicator on the iX100 lights up in blue.
 

macOS
