This may be due to [Automatic selection], which is specified for [Paper size] by default in the [Carrier sheet settings] window. When [Automatic selection] is selected, an optimal size will be selected automatically from the available standard sizes in [Paper size], and the size of the scanned image may become different from the original document.
In that case, please take the following method:
- When the size of scanned image is smaller than the original document size, please follow the steps below.
- Select the profile you use and open the [Edit profiles] window.
- Click the [Option] button for [Feed] to display the [Feed option] window.
- Click the [Carrier sheet] button to display the [Carrier Sheet settings] window.
- Select another option than [Automatic selection] for [Paper size].
- Press the OK button to close the window, and save the profile.
- Scan the document again.
- When the size of scanned image is larger than the original document size, crop the output image to the desired size using an application for editing PDF files.
For Adobe Acrobat 8/9, select [Tools] > [Advanced Editing] > [Crop Tool] from the menu bar, specify the desired area of the image, then double-click it.
For Adobe Acrobat X/Xl, select [Tools Panel] > [Pages] > [Crop], specify the desired area of the image, then double-click it.
For Kofax Power PDF, select [Edit] > [Crop] from the menu bar, specify the desired area of the image, then double-click it. - This issue may be solved by scanning the document with an A4 size sheet of blank paper placed underneath.
