On mobile routers, the privacy separator function is usually enabled, with a security setting that blocks communication between connected devices.
If you connected the ScanSnap iX100 to such a wireless access point (such as a mobile router) with the privacy separator function enabled, you will not be able to use the ScanSnap iX100 via Wi-Fi from a PC or mobile device.
If you accidentally configured your ScanSnap iX100 to connect to such a wireless access point, you will not be able to use the ScanSnap iX100 even in Direct Connect mode if the wireless network (SSID) is in range.
<Workaround #1>
To use the ScanSnap iX100 while connected to a mobile router, disable the privacy separator function on the mobile router.
Note: For information about your mobile router and how to change its settings, refer to your mobile router's manual.
<Workaround #2>
If you connect to a mobile router with privacy separator function enabled by mistake, take the following steps.
- Please try using Direct Connect mode. When ScanSnap is turned off and on while the mobile router is turned off, it switches to Direct Connect mode.
<Workaround #3>
If you cannot turn off the mobile router, take the following actions.
If you do not have a computer
You can manually switch the ScanSnap iX100 to Direct Connect mode.
If you have a computer
Use the ScanSnap Wireless Setup Tool to delete the wireless settings of the mobile router.
After deleting the wireless setting, close the ScanSnap Wireless Setup Tool and connect the ScanSnap in Direct Connect mode.
