This message may appear if the arms of the pad unit remain raised.
- Open the ADF top section of the iX1300.
Check the position of the arms of the pad unit, and ensure that they are not raised.
If the arms of the pad unit are raised, push them down to the correct position.

Make sure there are no small pieces of paper or foreign objects inside the unit.
Also, clean the document sensor section to ensure that there is no dust or dirt.

- Unplug the power cable and USB cable from the ScanSnap, and then plug them in again.
If the problem still persists after completing steps 1 through 3, there may be a scanner failure.
