Connect a ScanSnap to a computer via a USB cable and update the firmware.

- Display the main window of ScanSnap Home on the computer.
- Select [Settings] in the menu > [Preferences] to display the preferences window.
- Check that the ScanSnap you are using is in the list of ScanSnap units located in [Scanner information] in the [Scanner] tab.
- When the ScanSnap you are using is displayed
Select the ScanSnap you are using, and click the [Update] button.
- When the ScanSnap you are using is not displayed
Click the [Add] button to add the ScanSnap to be used.
During the process of adding the ScanSnap, the firmware update is also performed.
If the firmware cannot be updated, contact a local subsidiary near you.
macOS
- Display the main window of ScanSnap Home on the computer.
Click the [ScanSnap Home] icon in the application list that appears when you click Launchpad in the Dock to start ScanSnap Home.
- Select [ScanSnap Home] on the menu bar > [Preferences] to display the preferences window.
- Check that the ScanSnap you are using is in the list of ScanSnap units located in [Scanner information] in the [Scanner] tab.
- When the ScanSnap you are using is displayed
Select the ScanSnap you are using, and click the [Update] button.
- When the ScanSnap you are using is not displayed
Click the [Add] button to add the ScanSnap to be used.
During the process of adding the ScanSnap, the firmware update is also performed.
