[The status of the touch panel when a ScanSnap is not connected to a computer via Wi-Fi]
Note: When connecting your computer and your ScanSnap for the first time, or when initializing the ScanSnap, the following screen will appear. The same screen will be displayed when [Connected user] is set for [Display of profiles].
[Preparation]
- Update the firmware of your ScanSnap to the latest version.

For details about the update procedure, refer to here. - If iX1600/iX1500 cannot connect to your wireless router,
refer to "My ScanSnap iX1600/iX1500 cannot connect to a wireless router via Wi-Fi.".
Check whether your ScanSnap can connect to your computer via Wi-Fi by referring to the following solutions 1 to 4.
1. Check the Wi-Fi information on the touch panel of ScanSnap.
2. Specify the IP address and try connecting.
3. Confirm that ScanSnap and the computer can communicate with each other via the network.
4. Check the security software installed on the computer.
1. Check the Wi-Fi information on the touch panel of ScanSnap.
1. Check [Wi-Fi connect mode] and [Network name (SSID)].
(1) Tap the gear icon to open the [Settings] screen.
(2) Tap [Wi-Fi settings].
(3) Check the following two items.

Wi-Fi connect mode
[Access point connection] is displayed -
Access point connection
Network name (SSID) of the same network environment as your computer is displayed

If the problem persists, ScanSnap itself may be experiencing a small malfunction. Please initialize the ScanSnap and set up Wi-Fi settings again referring to "The "Failed to obtain the Setting Information. 10" error appears on the touch panel of my ScanSnap. What should I do?". |
2. Check the IP address.
(1) Tap [Wi-Fi information] on the [Wi-Fi settings] screen.
(2) Tap the [Network] tab.
(3) Check the IP address.
- If it is displayed correctly, refer to "2. Specify the IP address and try connecting".
- If "0.0.0.0” is displayed, the IP address has not been assigned by the wireless router.
Try restarting the wireless router.
For details, refer to the manual of the wireless router, or contact the manufacturer.
2. Specify the IP address and try connecting.
[Preparation]
Check that the touch panel of ScanSnap displays the home screen.
Note: If the screen is not the one shown below, tap < icon> on the upper right corner of the screen to return to the home screen.
- Start ScanSnap Home

Note: For details about how to start ScanSnap Home, refer to “How can I Start ScanSnap Home?”.
- In [ScanSnap Home], click [Settings], then [Preferences] to open a window.
- Select the [Scanner] tab.
- Select the ScanSnap that you want to connect and click the [Connect via an IP address] button to open the window.
Note: As an example, iX1300 is selected.
- Enter the IP address of the ScanSnap.
Note: For details about how to check the IP address, refer to “2. Check the IP address”.
- Click [OK].
- When the message "The connection is established." appears, click the [OK] button.
Note: If the following window appears.- ScanSnap and the computer may not be communicating via the network.
Refer to “3. Confirm that ScanSnap and the computer can communicate with each other via the network.” - If a mobile device is connected to ScanSnap, exit the application on the mobile device.
- ScanSnap and the computer may not be communicating via the network.
- Make sure that [Wi-Fi] is displayed for [Connection type].
3. Confirm that ScanSnap and the computer can communicate with each other via the network.
For details about how to check the communication status by using the PING command, refer to here.
If communication is not working properly.
ScanSnap and the computer are not communicating via a network.
- Try restarting the wireless router.
For details, refer to the manual of the wireless router, or contact the manufacturer.
If restarting does not improve the situation, the wireless router settings may be preventing the PING connectivity test.
Contact the manufacturer of the wireless router. - Check with your network administrator for the cause of the prevention of the PING communication test.
If ScanSnap and the computer are communicating normally but there is no Wi-Fi connection between them.
Confirm that ScanSnap and the computer can connect via Wi-Fi by referring to the following:
- ScanSnap Home may not be working properly. Restart the computer.
- Security software may be blocking the connection between ScanSnap and the computer.
Refer to "4. Check the security software installed on the computer. - ScanSnap may be malfunctioning temporarily.
Initialize ScanSnap and configure the Wi-Fi settings again.

4. Check the security software installed on the computer.
Security software may be blocking the connection with ScanSnap.
Check if stopping or disabling security software improves the situation.
For details, contact the manufacturer of your security software.
Note: If the Wi-Fi connection is not available even after the security software is stopped or disabled,
confirm that the Wi-Fi connection is established by performing the operation described in “2. Specify the IP address and try connecting”.
