When the ScanSnap is not connected via Wi-Fi, the [ScanSnap Home - Scan] window becomes as follows. In that case, please follow the steps below.
[Preparation]
- Update the firmware of your ScanSnap to the latest version.
For details about the update procedure, refer to here.
- Update ScanSnap Home to the latest version.
For details about the update procedure, refer to here.
- If iX1300/iX100 cannot connect to your wireless router,
refer to "My ScanSnap cannot connect to a wireless router via Wi-Fi.".
[Steps]
Please refer to the following steps 1 to 5 to check whether your ScanSnap can connect to your computer via Wi-Fi.
- Check the Wi-Fi information by using ScanSnap Wireless Setup Tool.
- [iX100 only] Configure the computer to be used.
- [iX1300 only] Specify the IP address and try connecting.
- Confirm that ScanSnap and the computer can communicate with each other via the network.
- Check the security software installed on the computer.
Note:
The window images used in the procedure below are based on the Windows, but similar windows appear in macOS.
1. Check the Wi-Fi information by using ScanSnap Wireless Setup Tool.
Check [Network name (SSID)] and [IP address] by using ScanSnap Wireless Setup Tool.
- Start ScanSnap Home

Note: For details about how to start ScanSnap Home, refer to "How can I start ScanSnap Home?".
- Click the [Settings] menu in ScanSnap Home - [Preferences] to display the window.
- Select the [Scanner] tab.
- Connect the ScanSnap you want to connect and the computer with a USB cable.
Click the [Wireless setup] button to open the ScanSnap Wireless Setup Tool window.
Note: As an example, iX1300 is selected.
- Click [Display and set the ScanSnap information].
- Check [Network name (SSID)] and [IP address].
Network name (SSID)
Confirm that the network name (SSID) of the same network environment as your computer is displayed.
IP address
- If "0.0.0.0" is displayed.
The IP address has not been assigned by your wireless router.
Try restarting the wireless router.
For details, refer to the manual of the wireless router, or contact the manufacturer.- If the IP address is displayed correctly
iX100
Refer to "2. [iX100 only] Configure the computer to be used".
iX1300
Refer to "3. [iX1300 only] Specify the IP address and try connecting". - After confirmation, exit ScanSnap Wireless Setup Tool.
2. [iX100 only] Configure the computer to be used.
Make sure that the computer to be connected to iX100 via Wi-Fi has been registered with iX100.
- Return to the home window of ScanSnap Wireless Setup Tool and click the [Maintenance] tab.
- When a message "No computer has been set up" or "Another computer has already been set up" is displayed, click the computer button.
- When the message appears saying "Do you want to configure this computer to be connected to ScanSnap via Wi-Fi?", click the [Yes] button.
- When the message appears saying "This computer has been configured for Wi-Fi connection with ScanSnap.", click the [OK] button.
- Confirm that the message "This computer has been set up" is displayed.
- After confirmation, exit ScanSnap Wireless Setup Tool.
3. [iX1300 only] Specify the IP address and try connecting.
- Start ScanSnap Home

Click the [Settings] menu in ScanSnap Home - [Preferences] to display the window.
- Select the [Scanner] tab.
- Select iX1300, then click the [Connect via an IP address] button to open a window.
- Enter the IP address of your ScanSnap.
Note: For details about how to check the IP address, refer to "1. Check the Wi-Fi information by using ScanSnap Wireless Setup Tool".
- Click [OK].
- When the message "The connection is established." appears, click the [OK] button.
Note: If the following window appears,
・ScanSnap and the computer may not be communicating via the network.
Refer to "4. Confirm that ScanSnap and the computer can communicate with each other via the network".
・If a mobile device is connected to ScanSnap, exit the application on the mobile device.
- Make sure that [Wi-Fi] is displayed for [Connection type].
4. Confirm that ScanSnap and the computer can communicate with each other via the network.
Please use the PING command to confirm if the ScanSanp and the computer is communicating properly. For details about how to check the communication status by using the PING command, refer to here.
When the ScanSnap and the computer is not communicating via a network, try the following.

- Try restarting the wireless router.
For details, refer to the manual of the wireless router, or contact the manufacturer.
If the problem still persists after restarting it, the wireless router settings may be preventing the PING connectivity test. Contact the manufacturer of the wireless router.
- Try restarting the wireless router.
- Check with your network administrator for the cause of the prevention of the PING communication test.
When communication is established but Wi-Fi connection is not available, try the following.
- ScanSnap Home may not be working properly. Restart the computer.
- Security software may be blocking the connection between ScanSnap and the computer.
Refer to "5. Check the security software installed on the computer".
5. Check the security software installed on the computer.
Security software may be blocking the connection with ScanSnap.
Check if stopping or disabling security software improves the situation. For details, contact the manufacturer of your security software.
Note for users of iX1300:
If the Wi-Fi connection is not available even after the security software is stopped or disabled, confirm that the Wi-Fi connection is established by performing the operation described in "3. [iX1300 only] Specify the IP address and try connecting".
