To keep your ScanSnap up to date or to continue using ScanSnap Cloud, regular firmware updates are required.

Computer
- Start ScanSnap Home
on the computer.

If you are installing ScanSnap Homeon your computer for the first time, you can download it from here.
- For Windows: Click [Settings] > [Preferences].
For macOS: Click [ScanSnap Home] on the menu bar [Preferences].
- Click the "Scanner" tab.
- From the displayed list of scanners, select the target model. The firmware version shown is the current firmware version.

If the firmware version is not the latest version currently available for ScanSnap, click the [Update] button. If an error occurs, update ScanSnap Home to the latest version. For details, see ScanSnap Home Fails to Update ScanSnap Firmware..
If the connection type is displayed as [Not connected] and the [Update] button is grayed out and cannot be clicked, the USB cable may not be properly connected.

- When the firmware update window appears, follow the instructions to complete the update.
If the following message appears, the firmware is already up to date.
Mobile

Start ScanSnap Home (mobile version)
, and tap the

- Tap [Scanner].
- Select your ScanSnap.
As an example, select the iX2500.
- Check the firmware version.
You can check the firmware version and update it, if it is not the latest firmware version currently available for ScanSnap, [HELP]
Note:
If you cannot update the firmware from a mobile device, update the firmware
using a computer.
